Beverly Hills Magazine: Welcome to the show. Let’s dive right in—tell us about your entrepreneurial journey and what inspired you to start in entrepreneurship.

Christopher Wick: I really appreciate starting there because it gives people the chance to hear someone like them. Growing up, I did not have perfect clarity on what I wanted to do. I only knew one thing—I wanted to help people. When I went to business school and studied business and entrepreneurship, everyone in class seemed to have a very clear vision. Someone wanted to open a bakery, someone else wanted to recycle cell phones. When it was my turn, I stood up and said, “My name is Christopher Wick, and I want to help people.” That mission led me first into marketing, helping businesses grow, and eventually into buying and selling companies. By age twenty-nine, I began acquiring businesses, and over the last several years I have completed more than thirty personal acquisitions and helped facilitate over one hundred business deals for clients.

Beverly Hills Magazine: How did your degree in entrepreneurship prepare you for real-world deals?

Christopher Wick: I attended a very special entrepreneurship program where it was not just about academics, it was about real-world testing. We still had rigorous education, but we were also challenged to actually run businesses and generate revenue. That practical experience shaped everything for me. Today, I am actually back at that same university as a doctoral candidate, donor, and mentor. What I love most is helping students understand that financial success is not just about safety—it becomes about service. Once your own needs are met, the work becomes about giving back.

Beverly Hills Magazine: Where do you think your strong desire to help people comes from?

Christopher Wick: I believe it was instilled in me by my parents, especially my mother. She taught me compassion from a very young age. She always said never judge people because you never know their story. That principle shaped how I approach everything—from helping someone on the street to making major business decisions. Even in difficult situations like litigation, I believe we should always do the right thing, even if others do not deserve it. That thread of service has carried through my entire career. I even have a custom license plate that says “For Them” as a reminder that everything I have is because I built my life in service of others.

Beverly Hills Magazine: Yes! Even the Lord Jesus taught us that the greatest among us will become the servant of all. So a life and business of servitude is the surest path to success. With over thirty acquisitions and exits, what is one deal that taught you the most?

Christopher Wick: Selling my first major company taught me the most. It showed me how difficult it is for small businesses to become truly sellable. Most businesses in America are small businesses, but the majority are fundamentally unsellable. That means owners work for decades and then simply close their doors with no transfer of wealth and no continuation of their legacy. That problem became my passion. I realized helping people sell their businesses is not just about money—it is about preserving their mission, creating generational wealth, and ensuring the next generation does not have to start from zero.

Beverly Hills Magazine: Tell us about the philosophy behind your company, Say Yes Enterprises.

Christopher Wick: Say Yes Enterprises is my holding company, and the philosophy is about saying yes to your next opportunity. Life moves in seasons, and people often reach a point where they are ready for a new chapter. Maybe they want to retire, maybe they want a new career, maybe they want freedom. But the only way to move into the next season successfully is to complete the first one properly. That means building a business that has real enterprise value—something a buyer would actually want. My job is helping people create valuable businesses that become assets, not just jobs.

Beverly Hills Magazine: What are some of the most common operational changes you recommend to business owners?

Christopher Wick: The first thing I always do is a free business valuation because people need to know where they stand. Most people avoid that truth, but you cannot improve what you do not measure. From there, we usually identify structural issues—often it is hiring the right people, improving systems, strengthening sales processes, or reducing dependence on the owner. Many entrepreneurs are excellent at growth but weak in structure. Sometimes a few strategic adjustments can take a business from a two-times valuation multiple to a six-times multiple, which is life-changing.

Beverly Hills Magazine: How does signing the front of the check set you apart from typical brokers?

Christopher Wick: I am not just a broker—I am an advisor. I have personally bought and sold my own companies, so I understand both sides of the table. I know what buyers are looking for because I have been the buyer. Investors are not buying potential; they are buying opportunity, leverage, and reduced risk. My role is helping clients identify where they are, where they want to be, and then implementing the strategy to get them there through what I call the Valuation Improvement Protocol.

Beverly Hills Magazine: What is the current mergers and acquisitions landscape like for small to mid-sized businesses?

Christopher Wick: The economy is tight, and investors are more cautious, but deals are still happening every day. It is more competitive now, which means strategy matters more than ever. Buyers want security, leverage, and strong deal structure. My focus is creating win-win deals where buyers feel protected and sellers still receive strong valuations. That often means creative deal structures like seller financing, where both sides walk away feeling successful.

Beverly Hills Magazine: Christopher, this has been such an inspiring and insightful conversation. Your perspective on entrepreneurship, legacy, and building businesses with purpose is incredibly powerful. We love how you emphasize not just financial success, but creating real value that impacts future generations. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us today.

Christopher Wick: Thank you so much. I truly believe business is one of the greatest tools we have to create freedom, serve others, and leave a lasting legacy.
