Wedding Planning 101

Wedding Planning 101

Wedding planning can be exciting, but very stressful. Stress isn’t good for us, and eventually wedding related stress can result in becoming a ‘bridezilla’. You don’t want to alienate your friends and future husband by becoming a bridezilla, do you? Here’s how to plan your wedding the healthy way:

Plan Well in Advance

Studies have shown that it takes couples at least 12 months to plan their weddings properly. If you want as little stress as possible along with a wonderful day, you should start planning ASAP. Give yourself plenty of time and you won’t have so much to think about closer to the day. (Image Credit)

Ask for Help if You Need it

If you need help, don’t be afraid to ask for it. Call in a favor from your family and friends. They should be happy to help. If it’s a big favor, consider asking them to do that for you instead of giving you a wedding gift.

Remember Why You’re Doing This

Look at the bigger picture. You’re doing this because you’re marrying the person you want to be with for the rest of your life, not because you want to impress your friends with a big party. When you keep the bigger picture in mind, things should be much nicer.

Accept That Something Will Probably Go Wrong

Things always go a little wrong at least. If they don’t for you, then that’s wonderful. But you should prepare yourself for it and get over it in advance. Just put things into perspective and don’t forget to breathe. The only time you’re allowed to freak out is if it has something to do with the rings.

Keep it Small

The bigger the wedding, the more stressful you can expect it to be. Even if you try your hardest to remain calm, you’ll get stressed about something. That’s the truth. The smaller you keep your wedding, the healthier you can expect to feel.

Don’t Ask for Too Many Opinions

By asking for opinions from your friends, family, and anybody else who will listen, you’ll confuse yourself. You won’t know which way to turn or who to listen to. Instead of listening to them, listen to yourself. What does your inner voice say?

You want this day to go off without a hitch, but you’ll more than likely need to make a few changes on the day. Don’t worry. In the grand scheme of things, people probably won’t even notice. Refuse to let anything ruin your big day. This is about you and the one you love and nothing else should matter!

Hire a Wedding Planner

A wedding planner might be pricey, but they will take a lot of the stresses of wedding planning away from you. Consider hiring one of the best wedding planners in Orange County if you want to be able to have peace of mind and get plenty of sleep in the days and weeks leading up to the special day. They will sort everything out for you, from wedding venues to the food. It’s worth the price!
