A customized tattoo depends upon two things: a great design and a virtuoso tattoo artist. Sure, there may be a tattoo studio in town that’s close to where you live, but proximity alone does not guarantee quality. (Image Credit: Thought Catalog/Pixabay)

How can you tell a tracer from an artist? How can you connect with a tattooist who’s expert at creating the thin, crisp lines and the saturated colors that will make your ink stand out from the crowd?

A new app called InkLnk aims to connect clients with experienced tattoo artists, and streamline the process of finding the perfect match.

InkLnk is not investor funded, and was founded by Grapes Wasserman, a tattoo aficionado, self-employed artist and LA native.

What Is InkLnk?

InkLnk is a smartphone app that’s compatible with both iOS and Android operating systems. It allows you to search through a database of tattoo artists using a variety of filters such as American Traditional, Japanese Traditional, Black and White, Illustrated and Tribal Polynesian. Once you’ve identified the artists who specialize in what you’re interested in, you can drill down more deeply into their portfolios and backgrounds.

Also if you don’t know how to start tattooing this could be a great way for beginners to find new clients and promote themselves. Along with their portfolio, you can also view their ratings and reviews from previous clients, giving you a better idea of their skills and customer satisfaction.

The app will connect you to galleries, which showcase specific artists’ work. If you like what you see, you can contact the artist to start a detailed consultation about the work you’d like to have done.

The app has a 3-D modeling engine, which permits users to project the design they’re interested in on any part of the human body so that they see what that art might look like once it’s complete.

More importantly, clients can use InkLnk to obtain an estimate for the work they’d like to have done and to book an appointment.

“It’s an old tradition but a new technology,” notes InkLnk founder, Grapes Wasserman, “I wanted to give people a one-stop solution for connecting with top artists without having to spend hours on social media, or driving around and going in and out of shops.”

InkLnk For Artists

InkLnk also streamlines the business of managing customer relationships. This makes the app a particular boon for tattoo artists who often find themselves spending hours on advertising, marketing and promotional activities that they’d far rather devote to tattooing.

Founder Grapes Wasserman explains, “InkLnk weeds out potential clients that are simply window shopping, by providing quotes for tattoos, thereby eliminating a lot of back and forth that artists have to deal with to land the client. InkLnk also allows the artist to accept or deny bookings without having one on one interactions with clients.”

InkLnk is currently in both the Apple Store and the Google Play Store where it is attracting an ever-growing band of followers. Whether you’re a tattoo aficionado or a tattoo artist looking to grow your client base, this is one app you won’t want to miss.
