When you’re planning to go out for a trip, you have a lot of things to worry about. If you decided to bring your fur babies with you, those things may start to feel overwhelming.  Bringing your cat with you when you travel can be so much fun. For some people, a trip is never complete without their feline companion. Cats are clean and independent. This is one of the many reasons why many people love them. Traveling, however, can bring so much stress to your fur baby, and always remember that pet needs a blanket to make them feel more secure while traveling. Before you make travel plans that involve your pet, prepare all the necessary things you and your pet needs. If you don’t know where to start, here are some of the essential things you need to prepare when you want to travel with your cat. (Image Credits: Manja Vitolic/ Unsplash)

Cat-Friendly Cage

Letting your cat inside your car without any crate is dangerous. Most car accidents in the world are due to distracted drivers. While there’s a big chance that your pet won’t distract you from driving, you can never be complacent and leave anything to chance. It is always safe to put them in a cage. Whether it be riding in a plane or taking the subway, placing your cat inside the cage is a good idea.

Litter Box

We cannot avoid the fact the cats could feel uneasy when traveling. Just like humans, your feline friend needs to poop and pee too. Are you travelling with a cat and need a carrier? Good thing that there are cat carriers that have litter boxes built into them. Now, preparing things made a lot easier. You may also bring cat diapers to make your cat’s life a little easier.

Food and Treats

If you decided to bring your cat along with you, it is important that you feed them like the way you feed them in your house. According to some experts, it is a good idea to bring a small pack of food that contains the same kind of food your cat has been eating every day. By doing so, your feline friend will not find the trip too stressful. You may also bring some treats that can be useful when your fur baby acts up. Make sure to bring something that would make your cat in their best behavior.

Bring Toys

If your cat is accustomed to certain things, make sure you bring it along with them. According to some Veterinarians, it is a good idea to bring a blanket, or toy they like to play with. Toys are a good way to keep them entertained and the key to preventing them from getting homesick. Cats also feel safe when they smell and feel something they are familiar with. Be sure to bring all the things your cat loves the most.

Today, travelling with a cat is not considered a hassle thing to do. Preparing their things is no longer an inconvenience. There are so many places like hotels and restaurants that are accepting animals in their establishments.
