Aston Martin is in the final stages of releasing their new supercar, the V12 Speedster. They are currently doing some on-road testing programs before deliveries get underway. Initially, The V12 Speedster was to debut among several luxury cars at the recently canceled Geneva Auto Show. This prompted Aston Martin to stage its event and announce the new fast car to the entire world.

From the details, it’s likely. The V12 Speedster will be the most phenomenal luxury car in the brand. The images show the new supercar with no roof, no windshield, and a bespoke design, a mixture of DBS Superleggera and Vantage. For more information about the new Aston Martin model, read on.

The Powertrain and Performance of V12 Speedster

Aston Martin describes the V12 Speedster as a “truly visceral driver’s car.” In other words, this is an apt description of the 5.2-liter V12 twin-turbocharged engine. Its output will range around 700hp and about 555 lb-ft of torque. Compared to the DBS, the horsepower figures represent a decrease of 15hp despite the two using the same engine. Again, the Speedster uses a bonded aluminum platform borrowed from DBS Superleggera and DB11 to create a bespoke chassis.

The powertrain includes an eight-speed automatic gearbox fitted to the V12 engine. It sends all the power through the paddle shifters to the rear wheels. Again, the new fast car will have exhilarating speeds. Aston Martin claims the V12 Speedster takes 3.5 seconds to cover a distance of 62mph and reaches a top speed of 186mph.

In comparison to similar luxury cars like Ferrari Monza and McLaren Elva, it lacks a ducting system that diverts airflow or a virtual windshield. This leaves occupants with no protection from approaching airflow. But to compensate for that, Aston Martin offers goggles and a full-face helmet to protect against the wind.

On the front, the supercar features a suspension and a double-wishbone. The rear axle multi-links with coil springs, while the brakes are carbon-ceramic and fitted all around. Adaptive dampers alter in profile when the driver flicks through the modes, the Sport, Sport+, and track. Plus, the fast car rides on 21-inch forged center-locking wheels.

The Interior and Exterior Styling

Interior specifications are just what you would expect from a brand like Aston Martin. And truly, they didn’t disappoint in their effort to push new boundaries by mixing traditional and modern materials. These materials include structural satin chrome carbon fiber, traditional hand-crafted saddle leather, aluminum, chrome, and 3D printed rubber.

Overall, the interior space is leaner, stylish, and keeps all Aston Martin’s craftsmanship. The passenger side comes with a removable leather bag which offers an additional luggage area instead of a glove box.

The body styling of the V12 Speedster resembles the Vantage, especially the face, rear spoiler, and taillight arrangement. Otherwise, it features some unique bodywork like the deep sculpting on both sides and large strakes that run from the front wheel wells to the door panels. There is a dual cowling for streamlining airflow entering the cabin, while in the rear, you find central mounted exhaust tips.

Other highlights design include enlarged grille, headlights, and introduction of bonnet nostril. It also features a spine and two humps that separate occupants.
