English has become a common and favorite medium of education all around the world. Non-English people are struggling hard to improve their spoken English skills. Individuals may be good at grammar but still, it is effective as long as you are writing. When you are speaking, you have to be fluent and clear. It is clear that English pronunciation is a must but how do you learn and master this skill? Have you emailed your professor for the issue you are facing with pronunciations? Mostly, tutors are not cooperative and you have to try other options. So, this blog is to help you find a way out.

Learning English Pronunciation

There are 2 options if you want to improve your pronunciation.

1.  Experiment Yourself

If you don’t have money to pay others to help you learn pronunciations, then learn by yourself. Dictionary is the best tool for this. In Oxford Dictionaries, you will find the pronunciations written next to each word. They are written very well and you can easily learn from them. Practice them as much as possible by continuously repeating the words by mouth. As much as you repeat with concentration, you are more likely to remember the sounds.

It is effective until you are determined. Moreover, you have to design your schedule to give time to this activity. It will take time to learn. You may start with basic alphabetical phonetics. Before going for the pronunciation, choose the accent, whether you want to learn UK English or US English. There are many other dialects of English as well like Aus-Eng, Can-Eng, etc. After you have chosen the dialect, buy a dictionary in that language or navigate online to learn A to Z phonetics. Next, start with words that are commonly spoken. After them, get started with the daily life sentences. Daily, learn 5 new words from the dictionary and learn 2 new sentences. In this way, slowly but effectively you can learn pronunciations.

2.  Enroll in Pronunciation Courses

If you want to learn (anything), you have to enroll in courses, training, and workshops. So, for learning pronunciations, you may also enroll in a course. You might not know this before as it is not an advertised field. You heard about literature courses but never learned that some institutes help you learn pronunciation skills. There are 2 basic courses in English, a Functional English Course, and an Advanced English course. English Pronunciation is an advanced Eng course and allows you to improve your spoken English skills. Many institutes offer both online and on-campus classes for this. Again, you can choose between Intermediate and Advanced level courses.

In this course, you may learn about stress, rhythm, intonation, and Aus- or the US- or the UK- colloquial language and idioms depending on the dialect you choose. Moreover, you will be able to improve your fluency and pronunciation. Your conversation skills will progress to advanced levels with a subsequent increase in vocabulary.
