Fabulous Beauty Salon: Petite Mason

Petite Mason Beauty Salon Los Angeles

With an ethos of approachable high-end beauty delivered in a chic European-influenced space, Petite Mason is a new West Hollywood salon offering full-service hair, nails, waxing, facials, eyelash extensions, spray tan and makeup. Petite Mason derives its approach from London import Lana Grand, one of the most sought after hairstylists in the industry.

Rather than “another celebrity salon,” Petite Mason reflects Grand’s philosophy that beauty can be elicited, and maintained, with less complication. “Hair isn’t rocket science. It shouldn’t take 4-5 hours and two dozen processes to get it right,” says Grand, who chose the moniker Petite Mason as an English twist on the Continental standard maison, instead paying homage to those, whether hairdressers or bricklayers, who work with their hands. “Women want hair that’s sexy and manageable, not a stiff museum piece, a hairstyle that can move and be free.”

The salon’s 1,700-sq. ft. interior – open, clean, laidback and light-filled – visually reflects this philosophy with its comfortable design inspired by a Malibu beach home, complemented by gratis tea, coffee and espresso, as well as beer and wine. Located at 8473 Melrose Avenue, just east of La Cienega Boulevard, Petite Mason is ideally situated in one of West Hollywood’s most stylish areas near the Pacific Design Center and such celebrated restaurants as Lucques, a stretch of Melrose being transformed into part of a new walking metropolitan quarter.

As a full-service salon, Petite Mason streamlines the process by allowing customers to have the same stylist for cut and color. Three price tiers are informed by the experience and vision of each Stylist, Senior Stylist and Master Stylist, under the supervision of Owner/Master Stylist Lana Grand. Services include hair (women’s cut, men’s cut, blow dry, Brazilian), color (base, highlights partial, highlights full, balayage, gloss, color correction), extensions, waxing, nails (manicure, pedicure), spray tan, and make-up/makeup lessons. Featured brands at Petite Mason include L’Oréal and Kérastase, Eminence Organic Skin Care, and soon adding medical scalp care brand Philip Kingsley.
