Palm Springs is the best place for people who love beauty and design. There are several hotels in the area, however, JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa stands out due to several reasons. The JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa recently unveiled a multi-million dollar renovation. The extensive redesign has transformed the resort into a modern, holistic retreat, steeped with desert-inspired elements. Every detail—except the spectacular views—is thoughtfully recrafted, from the magnificent lobby to the 884 guestrooms and the event venues.

History

The 450-acre property became a JW Marriott in 2002 and is the largest resort in Palm Desert. It features vibrant desert gardens, breathtaking mo,untain views and signature lakes

Location

The Palm Desert resort is just three miles away from Interstate 10 and five miles from the living desert. Moreover, it is four miles away from The River in Rancho Mirage, a dining and shopping complex. The hotel is just a 10-minute drive from El Paseo’s popular shopping district and less than 30 minutes to the heart of bustling Downtown Palm Springs.

Rooms

The JW Marriott Desert Springs features 884 newly designed guestrooms. These include 101 luxury suites, 400 King guest rooms, and 383 Queen-Queen guest rooms. Each spacious floor plan keeps the guest’s well-being in mind from calming colors, features stylish hardwood floors, modern furnishings, plush bedding, and mountain-inspired, silhouette murals, all in new shades o,f blue, grey and crisp white. The bathrooms feature quartz vanities, rain-style showers and more than 300 rooms offer free-standing and contemporary soaking tubs.

Services and Facilities

The staff of this luxury hotel is always smiling and is quite courteous, no matter what the department.
The hotel offers plenty of services and facilities which make it a complete holiday resort. These include five resort pools and a full-service, newly-reimagined Spa at Desert Springs. Check out the Desertone-of-kind one-of—kind 90-minute experience that utilizes all-natural ingredients from the desert. You can also check out the FDA-approved Pro-Collagen Red Light Therapy Facial, which guests are loving!

The resort offers two Ted Robinson-designed, championship golf courses, the Desert Springs Tennis Club. There is also electric boat rides on 18 acres of lakes and waterways. You can also purchase anything from different shops, from chocolate bars to resort wear.

Along with an extensive Family Passport Program, the hotel recently debuted the JW Entertainment Zone, which at 12,000 square feet, is the largest resort arcade in California with timeless classics like PacMan, Skee Ball, and Air Hockey, as well as new favorites including high-tech simulators, motocross racing games and four lanes of duckpin bowling.

JW Garden

The luxury resort now offers a pioneering herb garden envisioned and planted by renowned landscape designer Lily Kwong as part of the brand’s JW Garden program. Rooted in Marriott family tradition, the JW Garden is inspired by founder J. Willard Marriott who took daily nature walks, as well as his wife Alice. They grew fruits, vegetables, and herbs for her legendary Sunday night dinners.

The property’s Executive Chef, Eric Theiss, is sourcing ingredients and inspiration from the California native and edible-forward JW Garden for recipes, cocktails, oils, and more. New offerings include Barramundi with Celery Root & Sage Lemon Sauce, Himalayan Mint & Amelda Chutney, and Blueberry & Sage-infused Cocktails & Mocktails.

The garden will feature in some of the hotel’s family-friendly programming, including as a must-see destination on the popular daily nature walks.

Culinary Experiences

You can now pay tribute to Frank Sinatra daily as the hotel raises a flag – in true Sinatra style – to signal the Sinatra Smash drink in his honor, which takes place every day from 4.05 pm – 4.11 pm in the lobby bar, Aquifer65.

The daily ritual features two Frank Sinatra songs “Come Fly with Me” and “The Best is Yet to Come,” which was the last tune he ever sang live in a performance that took place in the hotel’s very own ballroom. The hotel invites travelers and locals alike to enjoy a sampling of the “Sinatra Smash” cocktail and the drink also features on the menu for $17.

Guests can also grab a bite at the lobby’s delicious Sushi bar. Moreover, there is a Fresh catch on offer at Fisherman’s landing.

Other culinary offerings available at this 5-star hotel include innovative and locally-sourced ingredients at Rockwood Grill and authentic Japanese cuisine at Mikado Japanese Steakhouse. You shouldn’t also miss the signature Love Me Long Time roll, which is a combination of shrimp tempura and avocado topped with spicy tuna as a starter. The main course is the Ultimate Sumo for Two, which includes Lobster, filet mignon, chicken, scallops, and shrimps.
