The Koenigsegg One:1 was first introduced to the market in March 2014, at Geneva Motor Show. The manufacturer only built six cars and one prototype that they presented at the Motor Show. Interestingly, all the cars were sold out. However, this exclusive production is the most expensive car ever envisioned in the industry.
The One:1 is the ultimate dream car. Imagine, its curb weight ratio and horsepower is 1:1. Something that supercar specialists thought was not possible for a usable super-fast car. Also, it’s the first car that has one megawatt of power, hence claiming the title, ‘world’s first megacar’.
The model features a 5.0 litre dual- turbocharged V8 engine. It’s a rear wheel drive with a massive torque of 1011 lb-ft and 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Like the one used on its predecessor, the Agera variant.
The power output of this car depends on the fuel. For example, if you use either regular or racing fuel, or E85 ethanol. It can speed up from 0-60mph in less than three seconds with either of the fuels. It gets more impressive and accelerates up to 250 mph in 20-seconds.
The Koenigsegg One:1, exhibits incredible performance in this auto space. The car outshines its competitors and makes it seem ridiculous when measuring its output power in megawatts or its 7500 plus rpm.
Koenigsegg is the first supercar manufacturer to take steps toward green technology with the release of the biofuel CCXR in 2007. The One:1, a sibling of the highly competitive Agera R, follows in the footsteps of the CCXR as it also runs on E85 biofuel, race fuel or normal gasoline.
Inside and Outside of the Dream Car, The One:1
The interior design is a characterization of pure innovation. The dashboard features a large, round well-lit control centre. Where all the tools and buttons for easy control are. Plus, the infotainment system that includes a fixed set of air vents.
Everything about this car revolves around speed; even the seat tells it all. They’re designed to offer the highest support when driving on thrilling situations, and they have included the six-point harness to hold you in place.
The exterior appearance is stunning as expected. The body shape and the add-ons like the aero winglets, side splitters, and the extended venture tunnels are for enhancing performance. Also, they installed dynamic under trim and active wing structure for air management.
Other concepts incorporated are the air vents for efficient cooling, the air-roof scoop that supports the output power of the 1-megawatt horsepower and the 8250 rpm rev — coupled with the rear triplex suspension which has carbon bevel springs and shock absorbers.
As mentioned earlier, the Swedish machine is the most expensive supercar in the automotive industry. If you are to consider its capability, you would agree the Koenigsegg One: 1 is worth every cent. And for you to own One: 1, you need to shell out a whopping $2,850,000.
When you mention Koenigsegg, other automakers go silent. The automaker has not only built a competitive brand but also specializes in the art of crafting 1000hp+ supercars. For years, they have been perfecting their engineering know-how, and the culmination was in 2014. When they introduced this cool car and curiously named it One:1.
The maker has used innovative technology like the GPS specifically for racing vehicles, advanced aerodynamics and a carbon-fibre body. All of which enables it to deliver world record racing performance, making it the most south after dream car for all fast car lovers.
