Beverly Hills Magazine: Hi, Kimberly. How are you?

Kimberly Verbeke: I’m doing wonderful. How are you?

Beverly Hills Magazine: I’m doing great. Thank you! It’s such an honor to have you with us. Congratulations on your success and the founding of Avita! We’re excited to learn more about it.

Kimberly Verbeke: Thank you!

Beverly Hills Magazine: Let’s dive right in. What initially drew you to naturopathic medicine, and how did your journey begin?

Kimberly Verbeke: I was raised with holistic medicine and always wanted to be a doctor when I was young. I started working in a nursing home, where I gave medication and shots. It was such an enlightening experience. I always tell people that when you start out at the end of life, you learn exactly what you don’t want.

From that experience, I knew allopathic medicine wasn’t the path for me. Life happened, and fast forward 15 years, I was deeply into endurance sports. I’ve always been interested in working out, eating healthy, and understanding how the human body functions. However, I got really sick during that time. Trying to regain my health taught me so much and ultimately led me down this path. Naturopathic medicine felt familiar and aligned with my desire to help people truly heal, rather than just masking symptoms.

Beverly Hills Magazine: Truly healing—so important! What is your educational background? I believe it’s a bit different from what you’re currently doing.

Kimberly Verbeke: That’s correct! My training is as a traditional naturopath. I worked for many years in a different field, but when I decided to pursue this path, I went to school specifically for traditional naturopathy.

Beverly Hills Magazine: Amazing! What inspired you to create Evita, and what does the name mean? Also, what sets your practice apart from others?

Kimberly Verbeke: Avita is a Latin word that means “starting over” or “making new,” which I felt was fitting. When people come to me, they often want to start fresh and regain their health.

What sets my practice apart is that I work with a limited number of clients at a time. This allows me to be very hands-on and give them the time and attention they need. Healing is not a linear journey; life happens. Whether it’s moving, losing a job, experiencing a loss, or going through a divorce, these events impact health. I focus on guiding and supporting my clients as they navigate those challenges.

Beverly Hills Magazine: Absolutely! We’re tri-part beings—body, soul, and spirit—and all these elements impact our overall health. How do you integrate the mind-body connection into your philosophy and treatments?

Kimberly Verbeke: It really depends on the individual. For some, meditation is the key. For others, it might mean connecting with nature or finding peace in other ways.

Meditation doesn’t have to mean “emptying your mind.” For me, it’s about being quiet and comfortable with my thoughts. Some people prefer repeating positive affirmations, while others recharge by being in nature—feeling the sun, the earth’s energy, and the elements around us. I meet clients where they are and help them find what works best for their healing.

Beverly Hills Magazine: That’s beautiful. Personally, as a Christian, I find peace in quiet moments with God. It’s about finding that place of stillness and connecting spiritually. When our spirit is at peace, it impacts our physical and emotional health.

Kimberly Verbeke: I completely agree. I’m a person of faith as well, and I’ve noticed that nearly all my clients are, too. Faith is a powerful part of healing. It gives people hope, a belief in something greater than themselves, and trust in the body’s God-given ability to heal.

Beverly Hills Magazine: Absolutely. Our bodies were divinely designed with the ability to heal. Whether it’s a broken bone or a cut, our bodies repair themselves, which is miraculous. I’ve personally experienced healing through faith, and it’s a reminder of the supernatural nature of our bodies.

Kimberly Verbeke: I love that! Healing truly is supernatural. When we approach health holistically—body, mind, and spirit—we can achieve extraordinary results.

Beverly Hills Magazine: Agreed. Your approach to healing is inspiring. What are some of the most valuable life lessons you’ve learned throughout your career as a naturopathic practitioner?

Kimberly Verbeke: The biggest lesson is that healing isn’t linear. People need grace for themselves during the process. Life is unpredictable, and stressors can derail progress. But with the right support, you can find your way back to balance and health. I’ve also learned the importance of faith, hope, and a personalized approach to care. You know, I think something we really move away from as we get older, particularly in our part of the world, is trusting our intuition or gut feeling. I believe that intuition is a God-given gift, the ability to discern, “This doesn’t feel right; I’m going to walk away,” or “This feels right; I need to pursue it.”

Beverly Hills Magazine: I agree. Trusting our intuition is so important. How do you help others reconnect with theirs?

Kimberly Verbeke: I always encourage people to trust their intuition, especially if it’s something they’ve gotten away from. It’s crucial to step back and start tapping back into it. I truly believe in its power. For example, I’m working with a woman who has cancer. She stopped using a product she felt was helping her because her medical doctor told her to. When I asked her why she stopped, she admitted she wasn’t sure. Her condition worsened after stopping, and I reminded her to trust her instincts. If something feels right, we should listen to that inner voice. Of course, there are tests to ensure your body is responding well, but intuition is key.

Beverly Hills Magazine: Absolutely. I believe intuition is like a North Star, keeping us aligned with God’s will. When we ignore it, we often veer into disaster. Practices like prayer and meditation help me return to that quiet, peaceful place where I can listen to what my intuition is telling me. What are your spiritual practices? How do you stay grounded in your daily life?

Kimberly Verbeke: For me, it’s a combination of prayer, Bible reading, and aligning with my faith. Nature is also a huge part of my life. I feel it’s one of God’s greatest gifts, yet so many people overlook its beauty and significance. A simple walk in the forest leaves you feeling peaceful, calm, and recharged. For me, being in nature is one of the closest ways to connect with God and appreciate His creation.

Beverly Hills Magazine: Amen! I wholeheartedly agree. With all the technological advancements like AI, I feel we’re straying too far from our natural way of life. I believe God’s original intention for us was to live close to nature, thriving in harmony with it. The more we align ourselves with that, the healthier and more spiritually fulfilled we become.

Kimberly Verbeke: Exactly. Nature holds so much healing power. It’s amazing how we can thrive when we embrace it.

Beverly Hills Magazine: Do you have a memorable success story from one of your clients where your healing techniques made a significant impact?

Kimberly Verbeke: One of my favorite success stories is about a woman in her late 80s. She came to me wearing a brace that supported her upper body due to multiple fractures caused by osteoporosis. She had been in a lot of pain and was taking a biologic drug to heal her bones for six to eight months without improvement. When she asked if I could help, I told her I’d do my best.

I ran some tests and started her on a regimen. After six weeks, she had a follow-up with her orthopedic doctor. The doctor conducted new imaging and was shocked—all her fractures had healed. The woman explained she was working with a naturopath, and her doctor simply said, “Whatever you’re doing, keep doing it.”

To see her body heal so completely at nearly 90 years old was incredible. It proves that, even in later years, our bodies can heal when given the right tools.

Beverly Hills Magazine: That’s amazing. And those tools were all-natural, right? I truly believe nature holds the cure for every ailment. Modern medicine has its place, but it often overlooks the natural remedies God provided.

Kimberly Verbeke: Yes, nature is medicine. But I also believe in balancing modern medicine with naturopathic approaches when necessary. For instance, if someone has dangerously high blood pressure, I wouldn’t suggest skipping medication. That medication can serve as a bridge, allowing time for the body to stabilize and heal naturally.

Beverly Hills Magazine: So, Kimberly, where can our listeners get in touch with you, book a consultation, and work with you?

Kimberly Verbeke: The easiest way to reach me is through my website, which is www.AvitabyDrV.com. I’m sure you’ll include it in the show notes. You can book a free initial consultation right there.
