Extraordinary Journeys has an adventure package to the home of one of the 7 new wonders of the world, Peru. This is a travel experience specially curated for someone who would like to enjoy culture, history, adventure, and fun— all in one.

Peru enchants even the most experienced travelers from its rugged coasts and lush valleys to towering mountains and Amazonian jungles.

Peru is filled with history, culture, wildlife, and incredible scenery combined with an exquisite array of experiences that will leave you with an incredible sense of appreciation for nature, especially as it stands beside human civilization.

While the country’s popularity has skyrocketed in recent years, it is still possible to uncover an authentic and less traveled Peru. Hiking is available to those who want to walk a part of the Inca Trail, following in the footsteps of the Empire from over 500 years past. Admire views of the Lost City and the mountains and valleys beyond.

Traveling now means having the ability to experience the destination without crowds while supporting the local economy and supporting as they rebuild.

One of the best things about traveling during this time is witnessing how excited locals are to welcome back guests, and in the case of Machu Picchu, right now the tourism industry is striking the perfect balance on both ends—tourists are trickling back in, but the crowds that once plagued the ancient site of magnificent human achievement at Machu Picchu are simply no longer there.

Perfect For

From culture and history buffs to serious adventure seekers and seasoned hikers or more casual walkers, Peru has options to suit various needs and preferences.

For those feeling adventurous, opt for a multi-day trek to the celebrated citadel along the Inca Trail or Salkantay.

Serious trekkers with more time should consider including a trek to Choquequirao; or continue north to the Cordillera Blanca, a rigorous route through the world’s highest tropical mountain range.

One of the most unique experiences available is a lodge to lodge hiking where travelers can adventure through a historic section of Inca trail spanning 15 different eco-systems and explore villages where locals still maintain age-old traditions along the way.

Recommended Itinerary

Extraordinary Journeys’ Journey to Peru: Inca Trail Itinerary  explores Machu Picchu, one of Peru’s most iconic sites and the crown jewel of the Inca Empire. One of the 7 New Wonders of the World, it is a must for travelers.

Travel Requirements & Restrictions

Proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test taken at most 72 hours before departure for Peru, or a medical certificate of epidemiological discharge.

Completed and Signed Electronic Health Affidavit and Geolocation authorization form (available upon airline ticket purchase). Upon arrival at the airport, travelers must wear a surgical mask at all times.

While in Peru, a face mask is required in all public areas. Machu Picchu has implemented several new safety protocols, including mandatory mask-wearing, restrictions on group size (no more than nine people, including a guide), and making it essential for groups to stay at least 20 meters apart.

The destination has also implemented a new ticketing system, limiting the number of visitors per day and length of visit. In this case, we still recommend booking tickets one or two months in advance. Entry remains suspended to non-residents with travel history in India, Brazil, and/or South Africa in the past 14 days.
