Arnold & Son Watchmakers have yet again proven their prowess in watchmaking, with their new Ultrathin Tourbillon Koi watch. This latest unveiling is surprisingly part of their métiers d’art collection, with miniature painting blending on the mother-of-pearl dial, and two silver lotus blossoms; all hand-painted and engraved to give it a personalized look.
It encompasses a rare fusion of legendary Japanese art, Koi, and century-old craftsmanship to inspire beauty and tranquility. This watch highlights Arnold & Son’s dedication in producing timeless, unique pieces that’ll definitely satisfy the customer’s needs.
Focus on Personalization
The new Tourbillon KOI offers a vast degree of flexibility for customers when it comes to personalization. Customers have the capacity to make some changes on the dial or movement to make it more special. They can do this via engravings, sculpted objects, gem-setting, and miniature paintings.
On the dial’s right-hand side, you’ll notice a Techno carp with a huge red spot swimming through. To the left, you can’t miss another carp in orange and white swimming towards the silver lotus flowers.
Attention to detail
Above the Techno carps are two well-sculpted lotus flowers. They are hand-designed, with the petals made from silver, then polished, engraved, and painted using white lacquer. Arnold & Son pay key attention to the details when painting these carps and flowers.
They use extremely thin hand brushes to add critical features like scales and stripped fins. For better precision, they also design each flower’s pistil separately then later combine them for the perfect lotus.
In addition to their beauty and the creative life brought by the Techno carps and lotus flowers, these cultural symbols also embody perseverance and strength during times of adversity. This is the mark of true craftsmanship.
The watch also bears an off-centered dial at 12 O’clock, which frees up some space to provide ample empty canvas for the customer’s desired style. And finally, the dial’s base comes in a blue shade giving it a shimmering aquatic feel.
Apart from the opulent beauty of this Tourbillon watch, it boasts of impeccable functionality. The watch is powered by an A&S8200 caliber, with a 2.97mm thick Horlogerie movement. It has an impressive 90-hour power reserve, allowing it to go nearly four days with zero need for winding.
It displays time in hours and minutes through the off-centered dial, with dynamic visual impressions at 6, as the tourbillon rotates.
Arnold & Sons also spent some time in designing the balance bridge. Its dome shape ensures that it doesn’t disrupt the entire movement process, and the engraved hand decorations give this ultra-thin tourbillon Koi watch a magnificent rotation.
Overall, this hand-crafted, styled and polished timepiece is one of the best watches produced by Arnold and Son’s. It shows their fine mastery in watchmaking, using their tried and tested techniques.
The watch is attractive, ultra-slim, and comfortable, long-lasting, and customer-oriented. It’s the real deal for anyone looking to invest in a tourbillon watch.
