As Mercedes gears up to introduce a comprehensive line of electric vehicles, the boxy Mercedes-Benz EQB is among the first of its offerings. The EQB features an all-electric powertrain that can hustle the SUV up to speed with ease. Moreover, it provides around 240 miles of driving range on a full charge. The EQB also offers a spacious cabin with upscale materials.

Engine and Performance

The Mercedes-Benz EQB has a 225-hp electric motor, which produces around 288 pound-feet of torque. Moreover, this luxury vehicle shares chassis components with the gasoline-powered GLB. However, it is heavier, giving a more comfortable ride. When you drive this luxury SUV, you will notice that it is quicker than the GLB250 and more on the level of the AMG GLB35.

The EQB uses a 66.5-kWh battery, present underneath the floor. The EPA-estimated driving range has yet to be announced, however, it should be close to its targeted competitors.

Interior

Mercedes has carried over the cabin from the GLB-class SUV to the EQB, with a few changes, which makes it unique. There are around five seats across two rows, with an optional pop-up third row of seats. Moreover, this luxury SUV has nicely trimmed door panels, soft leather upholstery, and bright metal trim. Moreover, the EQB, like its previous models, features lovely rose-gold interior accents.

The SUV has around 22 cubic feet of cargo space behind its second-row seats. That’s a generous amount of space for such a compact SUV. Moreover, the EQB’s squared-off proportions make it easy to fill bulky items. The optional third-row seat doesn’t intrude on the cargo space when folded. However, when in use, it considerably reduces cargo space.

Infotainment

This super vehicle features the newest MBUX infotainment system. It offers a touchscreen, voice command, and steering-wheel controls for its audio, navigation, and other functions. Some people will love the voice command feature. However, it becomes a bit frustrating when the voice command pops up any time you say, Mercedes. The navigation has a feature that helps drivers to find EV charging stations easily.
