I hope that my music can touch people’s lives and help them through hardships. I hope that people can take my music and apply it to their own life and that my experiences can help them through whatever battles they may be facing.—  One of Faith Schueler’s motivations for making music.

Faith Schueler is a born and bred South Carolinian artist, singer, and songwriter. She sings pop/country music with a soul twist. In 2018, she released her first single who holds your heart, another one Ain’t even got a clue, and her new EP one love song at a time.

Beverly Hills Magazine interviewed this fast-rising pop artist to know what drives her to make music, her goals, and what fuels her passion.

Beverly Hills Magazine:  Give us a little background about yourself. Where did you grow up, education, etc.?

Faith Schueler: I grew up in the small town of Summerville, SC, which is just outside of Charleston. And I’ve always had a passion for music. I was a dancer for nine years and I learned how to play the piano at the age of nine years old. Also I self-taught myself the guitar and ukulele. Moreover, I was constantly surrounded by music whether I was at dance practice, singing in church, or singing in coffee shops around my town. Growing up, I was very focused. I always did well in school, I always strived to make good grades and I was also very focused on music. I feel like growing up, being surrounded by music had a huge impact on who I am today. It has made me more motivated, independent, and hard worker.

Beverly Hills Magazine: When did you discover your passion as a singer?

Faith Schueler: When I was a baby, my mom would always sing to me. When I got a little older, I would make her repeat songs over and over again until I learned the lyrics. Then, I knew that I had a passion for music.  I would always sing and put on performances for my family. I really started taking music seriously and performing in front of people around the age of 11. And I began singing in my church, which helped me get really comfortable singing and performing in front of an audience. Also, I started singing in local coffee shops around my town. I started writing my songs at the age of 13. I knew from a very young age, that this was the career I was meant to pursue.

Beverly Hills Magazine: What is your signature as a musical artist?

Faith Schueler: As a little girl, I had a very deep and powerful voice. A lot of people would compare my voice to Adele. It was very interesting to see people’s reactions when they looked at me as a little girl and then heard what my voice sounded like. I began taking vocal lessons as I got older and was able to work on expanding my range to sing in a much higher register. Throughout the years, I have watched my voice grow stronger and more controlled. I would say that my signature would be my powerful voice.

Beverly Hills Magazine: Who or what are your lyrical inspirations?

Faith Schueler: Growing up, I listened to a lot of Taylor Swift. I love how all of her songs tell a story. She really inspired me to write my own music from a young age. Some other lyrical inspirations of mine are Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Miranda Lambert, and Kelsea Ballerini.

Beverly Hills Magazine: What is your vision for your career? Where do you hope to go with it?

Faith Schueler: I hope that my music will be able to touch people’s lives and help inspire and motivate them. I hope to be able to use my platform to truly make a difference. Also, I would love to perform in front of large crowds where people come to hear my music. I also would love to perform at the Grand Ole Opry and the CMA Awards.

Beverly Hills Magazine: What does your music represent or what is your message?

Faith Schueler: I hope that my music can touch people’s lives and help them through hardships. And I hope that people can take my music and apply it to their own life and that my experiences can help them through whatever battles they may be facing. Also, I hope to spread love and positivity. I think this world could use some encouragement, especially right now.

Beverly Hills Magazine: How has God played a part in your career?

Faith Schueler: 100%,  would not be where I am today without God. I feel as though God gave me this gift as a tool to reach others and to help make a difference in this world. I am so blessed and so grateful to have the opportunities that God has presented to me. Without God, I would not be the person I am today. He has been by my side through everything in my life and I am so blessed to be walking with Him on my journey.

Beverly Hills Magazine: What is your greatest passion in life?

Faith Schueler: My greatest passion in life is music. I believe that music is healing. Music has helped me throughout my life. I’ve known that music has been my passion from a very young age. When I am playing and writing music, it is the most magical feeling in the world.

Beverly Hills Magazine: What are some of the challenges you’ve faced as an artist?

Faith Schueler: I have made plenty of mistakes throughout my journey. I used to be so hard on myself if I made a mistake during a performance. Then, I realized that no one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes. The best thing you can do is learn from those mistakes and keep going. Growing up, I knew that I wanted to pursue this career at a very young age. It was hard for me at some points because I was so motivated and determined, my peers did not really understand. I had to learn not to care about other people’s opinions and I had to keep going no matter what people said about me. Being an artist takes a lot of motivation and hard work. There have been times where I have gotten discouraged or frustrated but I had to remind myself to keep pushing forward. At the end of the day, it is all worth it.

Beverly Hills Magazine: What are the greatest rewards?

Faith Schueler: I believe that the greatest reward would be for my music to reach people in the world and truly inspire other people and make a difference. I want to share my truth with the world and impact others’ lives. Being an artist goes so much deeper than just the fame to me. I see it as an opportunity to use my platform and my creativity to make a change and help other people.

Beverly Hills Magazine: What makes an artist successful?

Faith Schueler: I think every artist sets different goals for themselves. I believe that if you work hard enough you can achieve those goals. I believe that is success.

Beverly Hills Magazine: Why is music an important part of life?

Faith Schueler: Music is love. Music is powerful. Music is healing. I think that music can impact anyone’s life and help anyone throughout whatever they are going through. Music is most important to me because it is my way of expressing myself and sharing with the world who I am and what I believe. Music is like my personal journal that I get to share with others.

Beverly Hills Magazine: Do you have a life motto, quote, or scripture you live by?

Faith Schueler: My favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This Bible verse has helped me throughout my life in so many ways. It has taught me to never give up and always trust God’s plan.

Beverly Hills Magazine: What advice would you give to aspiring Christian singers?

Faith Schueler: My advice would be never to give up on your dream. Just like life, pursuing this career will have its ups and downs. It will be hard work and you may get discouraged sometimes. It is really important to see the bigger picture. Always remind yourself that you can do this and try to keep a positive attitude. It will all be worth it.

Beverly Hills Magazine: Have you discovered a personal purpose in what you do?

Faith Schueler: Music and writing are what I love to do. And to be able to share that with other people is my absolute dream. By pursuing this career, it is allowing me to reach other people with my message and it is allowing me to grow as a person and an artist. I have learned so much about myself throughout this journey and I cannot wait to continue to grow and learn. I am so blessed to be able to pursue this career.

Beverly Hills Magazine: Anything else you would like to add or share?

Faith Schueler: Thank you to everyone who has supported me along this journey. I am so grateful for my supportive parents who have remained by my side through it all.

I am thankful for all of the people in the industry who have taught me to be a better writer, artist, and person.
