The past weekend has been really exciting in my happy family, as my sister announced that she is expecting a baby with her husband of 2 years. We are a total of 4 brothers and sisters, but she is the first one with a kid on the way. So, naturally we all started cooking up baby names and celebrated by giving her baby presents, but then we quickly realized that none of us knew what to expect with the baby coming on the way. Being the one who likes to stay on top of the latest tech developments, I set myself the task of finding the best pregnancy apps, so my sister can stay on top of her pregnancy right on her phone.

That sounds exactly like what my sister needs, so I went ahead and checked out some of the apps on their list. I selected my top 3 favorites and reviewed them.

I’m Expecting for a personalized pregnancy calendar

My first pick is I’m Expecting. I like how you can get relevant parenting tips and information on the development of your baby week after week. You get new articles every day and you can access a lot of videos that help you learn about your baby’s development. I also found the pregnancy calculator to be really easy to use and I loved the progress bar as you can easily visualize how close or far away you are from the due date. I also liked the fact that you can easily keep track of your weight and you can find out if you are within a healthy range.

While I noticed that you can track your pregnancy in many ways, including weight, symptoms, and appointments, I didn’t see an option for entering your baby’s name. It would be great if the developers included the option as it can make the experience even more personal. However, the wide variety of pregnancy resources easily makes up for it.

Pregnancy Tracker & Countdown to Baby Due Date to keep track of your pregnancy

My second pick is Pregnancy Tracker & Countdown to Baby Due Date. What I really like about it is that not only does it provide valuable information on the development of your baby, but it also has a ton of pregnancy tracking tools and resources, so you can find everything you need in one place. I thought it was neat that you can easily create an album of baby bump pictures, so you can monitor the progress as you get closer to the due date. I also liked that you can join a birth club to connect with other expecting moms that have similar due dates. Another plus I found is that you can access weekly checklists and a birth plan checklist to make sure you have everything set to go.

I did find the forum section a bit confusing to navigate when I accessed it for the first time. However, it was easy to figure out and within a couple of minutes, I was already browsing through frequently asked questions and reading advice from other expecting moms.

Pregnancy + for getting ready for due date

My third pick is Pregnancy +. I found this to be a great choice if you want to learn as much as you can about your pregnancy. I liked that there are many tools, pictures, graphs, and videos to help you recognize the early signs of pregnancy and the different stages of the development of your baby. I also liked that you can easily set up reminders for your OB appointments, and take notes in a personal baby diary. One of my favorite features is that you can access a list with more than 1,000 baby names if you want some help finding the perfect one!

The only drawback I found is that there isn’t an option for tracking pregnancy symptoms. If this is something you want to do, then you might prefer my previous pick, Pregnancy Tracker & Countdown to Baby Due Date.

Conclusion

To be honest, I never thought my knowledge of apps would help my sister with her problems, but it seems she just can’t stop using the app. Your health is important, so in case you want more options, I’ll provide a list I used to find all the apps. It made my job so easier.

List of Top 10 Pregnancy Apps

Whether this is your first pregnancy or not, any of my top 3 picks will surely make the process much easier. You can keep track of everything about your pregnancy in one place, and you can easily find useful tips anytime you need them. My sister was really thrilled when I showed her what I had found. She went with Pregnancy Tracker & Countdown to Baby Due Date as she really liked the variety of pregnancy tracking options. I hope you find these apps as useful as I do. My best wishes to you and your new little one!
