Toyota Supra is keeping sports cars division on its toes. They are not letting things settle after making a comeback one year ago when they debuted the 2020 Toyota Supra, a long-gone fast car.

A year later, after returning from a two-decade absence. The automaker is refreshing the legendary Supra nameplate again. By unveiling the 2021 Toyota GR Supra model, which comes in two variants.

Both variants; Supra 2.0 and Supra 3.0 are luxury cars and have their own merits. The 2.0 liter will be affordable, low on power, and lighter than the six-cylinder supra. They look identical, but upon driving them, you notice they are different wild fast cars.

The Kind of Power Possessed by Toyota Supra

What’s new on the 2021 Toyota Supra? The automaker claims the 2021 model brings massive changes to the lineup. They have bolstered the Supra 3.0 with an output of 382 hp compared to the 335 hp of 2020 model. Furthermore, the output and 368 lb-ft of torque match that of BMW Z4’s.

On the other spectrum end, we have the lighter and less powerful Supra 2.0. The output of this four-cylinder derivative stands at 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Also, the brakes are smaller and lack adaptive suspension found on the 3.0 variant.

Like in the 2020 model, there is no manual gearbox. They are sticking to ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, Toyota claims the revised engine is 0.2 seconds quicker than the 2020 model. Some rumors state the new Supra 3.0 takes 3.5 seconds to run from zero to 60mph. While Supra 2.0 that is the model base, remains spritely and achieves 0-60 in 5 seconds.

Interior and Exterior of GR Supra

The two variants have a similar interior. But, it looks more simplified and restyled like a version of BMW. This is no surprise considering the two luxury car brands share a close relationship.

It’s only last year when GR Supra landed, and the exterior stills look good. The ducktail spoiler, dual tailpipes, and double-bubbles roof highlight the design. LED headlights are a feature across the lineup.

Supra 2.0 has gloss black wing mirrors, stainless steel polished tailpipes, and 18-inch alloy wheels. While Supra 3.0 gets matte black mirror caps, stainless steel brushed tailpipes, plus 19 -inch alloy wheels.

Further exclusivity comes with the new A91 Supra Edition which includes the carbon fiber lip spoiler, carbon fiber mirror caps, and unique C-pillar graphics. Others are the matte black alloy wheels and black satin double-hash design.
