Style Week Orange County returns to Fashion Island, Irvine Spectrum Center and The Market Place September 10 through September 20 with fashion shows, in-store parties and trend presentations to celebrate the best in O.C. style. Celebrity Cruises has consistently illustrated its ‘modern luxury’ philosophy in a variety of unique, land-based settings, from the cruise industry’s first food truck, to its Random Acts of Modern Luxury where Celebrity Cruises swag was given at random to consumers.
Now, award-winning Celebrity Cruises is the first cruise line to participate in Style Week Orange County via two runway design competitions on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, September 20 at 7 p.m. Celebrity Cruises’ Team Manager, LA, Palm Springs, Orange County, Marilys Ward and Director of Public Relations, Katherine Hill, will be part of the judging panel.

Celebrity Cruises has challenged students from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) to create resort-wear gowns that evoke “Modern Luxury.” “FABULOUS!,” the theme for FIDM’s annual Fashion Museum gala will be a private, ticketed benefit that same evening with a private VIP reception area and seating for the runway shows, with bites and beverages from select Fashion Island restaurants as well as a silent auction. Cynthia Rose, regional marketing manager, states, “The students were ecstatic about having Celebrity Cruises as their new design muse and left the kick off meeting truly inspired.”
To wrap up Style Week O.C. 2014, Project Runway star and celebrity designer Nick Verreos will return to host the Spectrum Collection Show at Irvine Spectrum Center. During the runway show, FIDM students will present resort wear inspired by Celebrity Cruises’ exotic destinations as part of the Celebrity Cruises Design Competition.

The seventh annual Style Week Orange County continues the tradition that Irvine Spectrum Center launched in 2008 to showcase local emerging designers, notable style makers and fashion brands in Orange County. Past events have featured appearances by acclaimed designer Rachel Roy, celebrity personality Mario Lopez and celebrity designer and Orange County native Lauren Conrad.
